I HAD a fabulous time at Train the Trainer (TTT) Certification. T. Harv Eker’s signature programme held at Singapore Expo from April 14 to 18, 2009. Like 400 other participants who showed up.

I was so glad I went and it was no mistake that TTT was indeed one of the best and most fun, thorough, and complete training course on leadership and training you can find on Planet Earth. The five day intensive course started from 9am to 12midnight daily, but you just don’t feel the time because so many things were happening at the same time.

Time passed quickly as we were totally caught up with the energy, the learning, the sharing and the wonderful people in the room. Now with all step-by-step lessons and template at hand, it is now a matter of practice, practice, and practice to put it all to work and to turn my “training dreams” into reality.

One thing about attending seminars is there are so many things to learn, that if you don’t revise immediately, you may soon forget, so one of the rituals of the day was doing a partner share going through flipcharts hung around the room to recall the lessons learnt.

I took a lot of notes during the seminar to help me recall, after the training so they stay fresh in my mind.

As they say practice makes perfect. This time around Blair Singer took the stage instead of T. Harv Eker. Blair has been a successful businessman and trainer for the past 27 years, so it was amazing to see his passion and dedication in teaching a subject which is close to his heart.

Blair lived up to his promise to make it worth the while, and taught participants everything he said he would, as he knew no other way than to be transparent so he gave, gave and gave, imparting his knowledge and wisdom to participants.

Training is all about connecting with people, and during TTT, we learnt many ways on how to connect with people, from scanning the room, to asking two enrolling questions, introducing yourself, and earning the right, selling your products and benefits, giving an irresistible offer.

These proven formula was given in a two–page template, which makes sense whether you are selling one-to-one, or in front of the stage. It takes a lot of skills, guts and confidence to pull through.

One of the biggest challenge of being a trainer is to stand in front of the room. Without a doubt, one of the greatest fears most people face is wondering what others think about them, which stops them from doing all that they can do.

So one of the compulsory exercise at TTT was Outrageous Night where participants had to go on stage to perform in front of the audience. To me that one of the “scariest moments” and the biggest stretch, worst than the firewalk, and all the other challenges combined.

But Blair knew a lot of people would be struggling with it, so he was sensitive in dealing with the little voice, saying for whatever it is worth, it is only 90 seconds so we should not let it stand in out way or success.

The purpose of the exercise was not to embarrass us, but for us to be in touch with our own greatness for one mere second.

Some people may get on stage feeling like a mouse, but when they get in touch with their bigger self, there is crack, and the bigger person emerge. Blair said if it was about looking good, you can look good enough. So with all the advise, I stepped forward with faith, consciously and unconsciously expecting breakthrough. And even in the dark with the spotlight shining on my face, I looked at the crowd and connected with them.

And for one brief moment I felt I was one with the room, and I could do not wrong. I was energized, people saw it and congrajulated me. I just received their support and love with my outstretched arms.

The lesson I took home that night was sometimes in life we judge others and we judge ourselves, but somewhere along the way we need to let go so we can be free again.

We need to stand from a platform of strength and confidence as for many people, they have been told they were not good enough when young, so it is important to regain courage by feeling strong and accomplished.

Being diamonds in the rough with a lot of polishing to do, the participants were in full concentration to absorb everything they can during the course. One of the most interestings lessons we learnt was about selling from the stage. Harv “appeared” several times to show and guide us on the skills of selling from the stage.

Although it was only a video projection, he was so charismatic we felt as though he was there, speaking directly to us, not mincing his words but giving it straight like what it should be.

As Harv said this is his area of speciality which makes him who he is today, so he doesn’t want people floundering around, taking things lightly because with the skills they now learnt, can take them places, command respect and make money.

Bottomline was everybody was in the room for a reason – to teach, and for most people who come from far and near, there was no mistake.

Think about it, there are 6 billion people in Asia, why are 400 people in the same room learning to be a trainer.

The world needs teacher, and what’s best than to teach what we love and make money.

Altogether there were a lot of exercises, and sharing throughout the five days training, it was hard to remember all of them.

Looking back it seemed unreal that TTT only happened last week, but because the intensity was so great and overwhelming, it was not something that will be forgotton soon.

We will always be reminded again and again what we have learnt, our commitment, and how we performed.

TTT was great from beginning to end and participants got great value from it. It was not just another seminar but one with real benefit and practical value and it is time to put all the lessons to good use.

It is typical to grow up believing that if we studied hard, excelled in school and landed a good job, the fairytale of having a luxury car, a dream home and being able to live the good life would come true.

But the reality is, there are many people, including highly educated ones, who work hard for money and yet plunge deep into debt with every dollar earned.

Some take the short cut by placing bets on the lottery. While millionaires have been made overnight, they can become bankrupt just as quickly if they lose all of their winnings to extravagant lifestyles and frivolous spending.

Even today, the downward spiral of the real estate markets has completely shattered the dreams of ordinary people hoping to create wealth. It is worse for those who have been driven out of their dream homes and into the “poor house” as a result of property foreclosure.

Luxury cars, too, have become liabilities as fuel prices increase drastically and people are more concerned about survival than seeing their dreams come true.

It is your knowledge about money that makes your dreams come true

While the recent news over the mis-selling of investment products highlights the importance of financial literacy, it was my personal experience with gold that taught me to take financial education seriously.

Gold was my first real investment as a young adult. I invested in gold before I began my foray into real estate. In 1972, at the age of twenty-five, I bought gold coins when the price of the commodity was approximately $70 an ounce. By 1980, gold was valued at $800 an ounce.

My caution gave way to temptation when rousing speculations about a gold rush spread like wildfire. Gold prices were expected to skyrocket to about $2,500 an ounce! That sparked a buying frenzy among investors, who bought piles of gold, even though they had never done so before.

Instead of selling my gold coins to make an instant profit, I waited, like everyone else, hoping their value would go up. That proved to be an unwise decision. About a year later, prices plunged below $500 an ounce and I had no choice but to sell my last coin. The situation never improved and the value of gold finally bottomed out at $250 an ounce in 1999. In retrospect, many who speculated in gold when it was valued at $800 an ounce, lost huge amounts of money.

Although I was unable to take advantage of the high price of gold, that experience taught me priceless lessons about investing. I realised it wasn’t gold that was going to make me rich. It was the knowledge concerning that asset that ultimately determined if a person became rich or poor.

Having the best golf equipment does not make you the next Tiger Woods

A friend of mine is crazy about golf.

He spends thousands of dollars a year on the latest high-tech golf clubs and nearly every new gadget that arrives on the market. Despite being a fervent fan of the sport, he has never invested a single cent to improve his game. Not surprisingly, my friend’s golf performance remains the same today, although he owns some of the best equipment money can buy. Had he invested some money to upgrade his skills, he would certainly have risen from average to great.

In fact, that same crazy phenomenon occurs in the game of money. Billions of people have thrown their hard-earned savings into assets such as stocks and real estate, but few have ever invested in information that would help to improve their financial knowledge.

A powerful lesson to take home

Many believe that “only the rich become richer”, but that is not true.

Always remember this: it is not gold, real estate, stocks, mutual funds, businesses, or money that make you rich. It is what you KNOW – your financial IQ - about gold, real estate, stocks, hard work, and so on, that will make you rich!

With a head count of more than 600 participants, the event is believed to be the largest Cash Flow Game in Singapore and possibly Asia

While most people are whining about the gloomy financial situation, a large crowd of enthusiastic participants spent the last weekend trying to figure out ways to get out of the rat race.

Participants formed teams of 5 to 7

Singapore’s Largest Cashflow Game Competition, organised by Success Resources, attracted participants from all walks of life, some of whom were as young as 10 years old.

It was a family activity for some.

What made it even more impressive was that the game was facilitated by Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Franchising Advisor - Kelly Ritchie and Rich Dad Asia Ambassador - Bellum Tan.

The participants formed groups of five and seven and pitted their financial know-how and skills against one another on the “Cashflow 101”, the board game created by Robert

“Cashflow 101” was designed to help players instil good money management skills in their lives in a fun and interactive way. It uses simple concepts that teach the basics of investing and managing personal finances. The game also gives players ideas on how to earn passive income in order to get out of the rat race and achieve financial freedom

Participants discovered how to improve their financial skills in a fun and interactive way

The game is played in 2 stages – the rat race and the fast track. Participants aim to get out of the rat race by accumulating their monthly passive income to a level where it exceeds monthly expenses

It was a battle to see who gets out of the rat race first for these participants.

Once out of the rat race, the player moves to the fast track where he will attempt to realise his dream, which is a slot in the fast track that he has chosen at the start of the game, or achieve more than $50,000 worth of monthly passive income, in order to win the game.

More than 1,100 lives were transformed over 1 incredible weekend at T. Harv Eker's “Master Your Mind”. This is a 3-day seminar that motivates participants to unleash the power of the mind to create a life filled with abundance and prosperity. Attending “Master Your Mind” was as much of a wake-up call for me as it was for the young monk who went on a pilgrimage with his master many centuries ago.

This is the story of what happened then…

While walking along the woods, the 2 monks arrived at a river bank and saw a beautiful, young woman standing at the edge. The woman told the monks that she was afraid to cross the river because she might slip and be swept away by the currents. She asked if one of the monks might help carry her across. It so happened the monks had vowed never to touch a member of the opposite sex. But the old monk, sensing the woman’s anxiety, lifted her onto his back and carried her across the river. The young woman thanked him and went on her way.

The 2 monks then continued their journey, but the young monk was shocked and disturbed at having seen his older companion break his vow so easily. After 3 hours of walking and thinking, the young monk could no longer contain himself and he burst out:

"Tell me, old man, what did it feel like to break your vow? What did it feel like to allow sensuality to tempt you from your spiritual path? Tell me, old man, what is it like to carry such a beautiful, young woman?"

The older monk remained silent for a while and said:

"It is you who should tell me what it is like to carry such a beautiful, young woman. I put her down 3 hours ago, but you are still carrying her in your mind!”

Like the young monk in the story, I have fallen prey all too often to emotional burdens from the past, unaware they were hindering me from attaining total happiness and absolute certainty in life. But all that changed completely after I went on my own pilgrimage at “Master Your Mind” last weekend.

Sharing my journey of self-empowerment were over 1,100 eager learners coming from different walks of life. Within minutes, the halls of the Suntec Singapore International Convention Centre were packed with a sold-out crowd from all over the world.

Living in a time plagued by escalating conflict and wars, it was a welcoming feeling to finally see the world unite and learn together as one. Suddenly, the world became smaller and it made me realise that everyone shared something in common, regardless of nationality, religion or skin colour.

Guided by 3 of the world’s greatest Mind Masters, T. Harv Eker, John Kehoe and Dr. Topher Morrison, we were led on an intimate discovery of the human mind and taught how to use the power of positive thoughts to attract greater Wealth, Health and Happiness.

Each applying his own unique style of teaching, the experts revealed powerful concepts and techniques on a specific area of learning. From T. Harv Eker, I discovered that the world is an empty canvass and that it is up to me to paint my personal success according to the colours that I choose. I also learnt how to lock in success principles into my memory by being involved in hands-on activities requiring the use of visual, auditory, kinesthetic and spiritual senses.

Having previously taken up basic courses on NLP, I related the most to the strategies as taught by Dr. Topher Morrison, who is a Master Trainer on that topic. I learnt familiar techniques that helped me to install future goals into my memory and was impressed by some very unique methodologies on how to create massive amounts of certainty in life. What made it even more impressive was that these are the same methodologies used by Dr. Morrison to transform athletes into Olympic champions!

The speaker who left the most vivid impression in me was John Kehoe. Recognised worldwide for his pioneering work in the field of Mind Power and as one of the original gurus on self-help, John Kehoe shared concepts on how to direct thoughts towards a positive outcome. I learnt that what I focus upon is what I attract and that my thoughts are the primary creative forces in life. So in order to awaken to a whole new life of power and opportunity, I should use them consciously and often. I wish I could have been more enlightened earlier on in my life, but I guess it’s never too late!

In addition to the training given by the speakers, everyone in the audience mingled and encouraged one another during team and pair activities. We celebrated the joy of learning by erupting in rapturous applause and chanting positive affirmations of “I feel good!”, all of which kept the halls abuzz with high energy and maximum volume throughout the 3 days.

It is truly a blessing to have been showered with the opportunity to attend “Master Your Mind”. It feels absolutely sensational to have been part of a positive-minded community of champions.

I am fully convinced that if everyone were to embrace self-improvement with an open and genuine heart, you can gain control of your mind and achieve success in every area of your life.

For 5 exciting days, the Singapore Changi Beach Club was the venue for “Rich Dad Advisor” Blair Singer’s Authentic Sales and Leadership Certification Programme.

The key focus of this programme is on building championship teams. It is also a personal training reserved for Blair’s elite Sales Partners – independent franchisees who specialise in business mentoring and coaching.

Like the unconventional venue, the 34 participants who turned up were not your common lot. Many of us have been brought up to believe our lives are all set if we studied hard, excelled in school and landed a good job. But the truth is, there are many people, including highly educated ones, who later find themselves struggling financially and unable to get ahead, despite working hard.

The problem, says Rich Dad Poor Dad author Robert Kiyosaki, is that many individuals do not know how to make their money work for them. As a result, most of them end up not being able to tell why they struggle financially because they do not understand the seemingly concept of “cash flow”.

Recognising that lack of financial aptitude among people, Robert went on to create the “Cash Flow Game”, an educational board game that teaches players how to hone their financial skills in the areas of accounting and investing.

Although spoken over half a century ago, these famous words by former British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill resonate even today. Like Churchill and many of the world’s greatest orators after him, they had one thing in common. Their ability to influence and hold their audiences spellbound each time they spoke was more than amazing. Today, the success of how we deal with people in business and personal relationships depends heavily on how well we speak and sell ourselves.

On 25th November, 46 participants from different countries in Asia and Europe came together at the Le MéridienHotel in Phuket to learn how to develop those abilities which will help them to shine on the speaking platform.

As you might have guessed from the words “speaking platform”, the participants were not your common lot. They were personally trained by world-renowned Wealth Coach T. Following that, Eker revealed the winning strategies he applies as a professional speaker that has helped him to sell more powerfully and earn his millions onstage.

Participants also discovered how to create a quick, powerful and emotional connection with their audiences from Larry Gilman. Gilman is one of USA’s leading acting coaches who has worked with celebrities including Academy Award-nominated actor Woody Harrelson. They learnt how being authentic and honest are the keys to making the difference between a good and great speaker.

All in all, the training programme was a huge success thanks to the world-class experts who have shared their time and knowledge with a talented group of people who were extremely eager to learn. And even if there would be some who would not take to the stage until they are ready in the future, we can be sure that these individuals, with the skills they had learnt, would definitely achieve greater success in their careers and get more from out of their personal relationships.
